ACCEPTED - Application: Steve (Paladin)

Post by Kefca » Thu Jul 29, 2010 8:50 am

The First character in the list will be displayed as your primary.
Server: Gorefiend Character: Stevë

What is your primary character class?

Paladin

Where did you hear about Riot?

I've been playing steadily since July of '09. Got my paladin to level 80 and got interested in raiding. Not much in the way of dedicated raiding on the alliance side, so it's easy to notice a guild like Riot.

Do you know anyone in Riot who can vouch for you? If yes, who are they and how do you know them?

No

Tell us why Riot should be interested in you. What benefit can you bring to the guild?

I understand my role and class. I'm aware of boss fight mechanics, and i study up on boss fights. If I haven't seen a boss fight in-game i'm usually aware of mechanics and positioning from watching videos or reading guides.

How long have you played this game?

Started when it launched, but wasn't able to dedicate much time to it. Didn't play much at all during TBC. Played from WotLK launch to about the release of Ulduar. I've since come back and have been playing consistently.

What other guilds have you been in? Why did you leave?

The Late Crew
I haven't actually left yet, but i most likely am. I like the people alot. They're cool and funny and like to help people. But we have had too much trouble getting down Lich King, and I want to progress to Heroic Modes. Which is something I don't think they're interested in.

Describe your endgame raiding experience. Include the current and previous box release, if possible.

11/12 ICC10. 5/12 Heroic ICC10
6/12 ICC25. I don't have much experience in 25 man but I know all of the fights I haven't personally seen.Don't have much experience before WotLK.

Describe your specs. What is your preferred spec? Do you have a secondary spec? If so, what are your gear and experience like with the secondary spec?

51/20/0 Holy
5/9/57 Retribution
I prefer Holy as I enjoy that more than DPS. My DPS in my ret set is good but it's easy enough to DPS as ret, I just prefer healing.
My Holy set has a Gear Score of 5962 and my Ret set has a Gear Score of 5549.

Describe what skill/spell rotation you use in your primary spec. If a rotation is not appropriate, what is your priority list?

Since there's no real healing rotation my focus as a paladin is Holy Light.
I of course use bacon, sacred shield, flash of light and occasionally holy shock(usually for while I'm moving.)

What websites do you use to keep current on your class?

ElitistJerks.com
Wowhead.com
worldofwarcraft.com class forums

Do you research boss fights before your guild attempts them? What websites do you use to become familiar with new boss strategies?

Yes.
Tankspot. MMO-champion.com. Google.

We raid 25-man endgame content three nights per week: 8 PM - 12 AM Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, all times Eastern U.S. Are you able to make these days and times?

Yes I am able to make those times. If i'm not I will be able to let someone know.

Describe any prior commitments that could change your raiding availability.

I'm in a band and we sometimes practice around 12am server time. Although not usually during the days that Riot raids.

Riot requires that you always bring all necessary consumables for our 25-man raids. This includes flasks/food/potions/etc., and covers all fights -- easymode and progression, normal mode and heroic. Would this be a problem for you?

Yes I am able to provide myself with flasks/potions/foods.

List your professions and any special epic/rare recipes you have.

187 Jewelcrafting.
450 Mining.
My JC is low because about a month ago i made the swtich to JC from alchemy for the 34 intellect gems that high level JC allows. I was told that about 3k gold would be close to enough to get me to max JC. Well about 4k gold later my JC was up to 187. Really wish WoW had a low level materials vendor.

Post a link with a screenshot of your raid UI. If that is not possible, or if you'd simply like to elaborate on your screenshot, describe what you use for class-specific functions (cooldown timers, raid (de)buffs, damage/healing tracking, etc.) and why.

Post link(s) displaying your recent raid performance. WWS, Recount log, World of Logs... something that gives us a clue what you can do.

See above.

Have you raided with any other characters as your main during the current content release? If so, why did you switch?

No

We define ourselves as a "hard casual" guild. That means we are committed to doing the best we can in 25-mans for the 3 nights (12 hours) we raid per week, no more, no less. We do not push a fourth night for progression. We do not require guild members to do off-night 10-mans, although many of our members choose to do this in their spare time. Is this acceptable to you?

Yes

Do you have any guild, raid, or class leadership experience? If so, describe it.

Was an Officer in The Late Crew. I handled pugging, leading raids, and inviting new members.

We seek team players, people who want to do right by the raid and the guild. Me-firsters and loot whores are not desirable. We also seek coverage in all classes such that we'll always have enough to raid, which means you might have to sit on occasion. Do you have any concerns regarding this? (If yes, elaborate. And be honest here, as temper tantrums will not be tolerated once you're in the guild.)

I have no problems with this.

Do you have a reliable computer and a stable internet connection? (Describe any known issues impacting game performance, including a shared internet connection, old computer, etc.)

My computer is newer and I've recently added a new power supply and video card. My internet connection is reliable.

Do you have a Blizzard authenticator? If No, please let us know if you would have trouble obtaining one.

Yes I own an authenticator.

Do you have Ventrilo installed and ready? Yes
Do you own a working Microphone? Yes[/quote]
